Many things happened during the ancient Roman empire. People were creating incredible architectural works, literary bodies and works of art that we still hold in high regard.
But while those are the parts of their culture that we all know, it turns out that people were doing really strange things that had been excluded from most history books. The upper class of Rome has also dictated what colors people could use and, unless it was rich enough, it is better not to be caught wearing purple.
Another law imposed which hair color was acceptable and Roman women believed that the rules about who could become blond were completely unacceptable. We all know that the people of ancient Rome were obsessed with gladiators, but did you know that they would actually buy vials of their sweat and skin cells? We have heard of being a sports fan, but it is a little further away than most of us would like! Another favorite hobby was the car race, and sometimes the drivers needed a little more energy to cross the finish line.
